This week you can expect to hear a great new single by Anja Schneider on Mobilee, the new Cobblestone Jazz on Wagon Repair, a typically long and twisted piece of psychedelic dance music, Solomun and Tiger Stripes keeping up Liebe Detail’s ridiculous run of good releases, 2000 and One with a brilliant chiming Detroit style remix of Lazy Fat People on Perspectiv, Tolga Fidan with a very Oner Ozer-esque 12 on Vakant, Mark August on Connaisseur, and lots more stuff.

As well as all of those, time permitting, expect to hear Radioslave remixing Deetron and DJ Bone on Music Man, new music from Rejected on their own label, DJ Swap on the increasingly cool Smallville Records and a new Crosstown Rebels RebelOne release.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with RebelOne, it’s a Crosstown Rebels sublabel whereby well known producers donate a track under an alias which is always the name of an animal. So far there’s been the Porcupine, the Panther, the Lizard, the Bull etc. Now Rebelone introduces “The Weasel” with a distinctly more lo-fi track than previous releases.

I guess the cooler sounding animals names have been taken already, or maybe people like weasels! Perhaps the names will get steadly more innocuous over time. I mean, when Discogs tells us that the next one is “The Cat”, then surely “The Cow” or “The Goldfish” can’t be far away. In any case it’s a good series of records that’s always worth checking.
