A Rose by many other names
So, the plot thickens as regards this remix of Saint Germain’s “Rose Rouge”. One reader kindly sent me a link to one of the Rhadoo versions, though it wasn’t the one that is in the Luciano set I heard. But that makes sense since according to Jay Haze there are two versions of this record.
As far as I followed from a brief conversation, Romanian producer Rhadoo made a version for Luciano. Then Luciano made a version for Ricardo Villalobos. Nobody else has this record and Ricardo is allegedly going to make a version for Jay Haze.
I don’t know which version I have, it’s labelled as “Tak-Su Remix-Rhadoo Edit”, it’s a slow almost Basic Channel style rework. In the Luciano mix it is possible that he mixes one version into another, since in that mix there’s a really uptempo build up. Anyway, who knows. It is interesting having a sort of mystery around this. They may not be released but these tracks will undoubtedly be talked about a lot this summer.

One with kind of jazzy snares and fiz-like beats, which is in his Harry Klein-set, and when I saw him in Oslo he played the version that’s in the Luciano-set, and played around with it for quite a while. Also, Raresh has it (jazzy version at least) and played it in a set from Stuttgart. I like the idea that they’re using this track almost for a kind of relay race or something, but I don’t like the idea that I’ll never get my hands on all the versions, or any of them for that matter.
