HIAF End of Year Chart 26-24
26. Polder-Strange Ways (Intacto)

I played this pretty much all summer, despite the fact that in Ireland it rained all summer and all my gigs are indoors anyway. Intacto and the Dutch always have their own take on house and techno and this is a good example of that.
25. Tiger Stripes-Hooked (Liebe*Detail)

I can remember reading Anja Schneider’s feedback to this over on Word and Sound, where she said that it “rekindles the night” or something similar. This is a really good description for “Hooked”, it just injects something new into a set. Also it’s a really well made track for mixing. Tiger Stripes did a lot of stuff this year but none of it really comes close to this for me.
24. Johnny D-Gualia (Oslo)

Oslo is easily my favourite new label in the last couple of months, and if they can keep going as they are they’ll be huge in 2008. I noticed Federico Molinari’s release is number 2 on Decks.de so it’s already looking good. Of course even if they never sell another record we can still enjoy the ones they’ve done so far. “Gualia” is just one of a number of tracks this year which proved that going back to house doesn’t have to mean lush Innervisions style deepness. “Manipulation” on the flipside is just as good.
(Stay tuned for the rest of the countdown, next installment tomorrow evening time GMT)

You’re right! OSLO label is very promising, but on this record I really prefer “Manipulation”

Glad you’re enjoying it, it’s been great fun making the list and now posting it.
@Mikhail, yeah it was hard to choose between them. Maybe I should do EPs instead of tracks to sit on the fence a bit!

Played that Tiger Stripes loads this year, and actually played the flip a good amount too. A nice house track for the early evening.
