HIAF End of Year Chart 23-21
23. John Daly-Do It (Wave Music)

It’s good to put an Irish person in this chart without a scrap of sentimentality or national pride. This is for me the best of several John Daly tracks I played all year.
22. Prof De La Croix-Build Her (Deeply Rooted)
/VA%20-%20Tronic%20Jams%20(EP).jpg)
This one is a track I just couldn’t leave out. I forgot about it for a few months then played it in the Pod in September and realised how great it sounds on a big system. I own nothing else by this artist and know practically nothing about him, but this is some seriously deep house music with cavernous strings and a raw 80s feel to it.
21. Ed Davenport-Eyespeak (Liebe*Detail)
%5CVincenzo%20&%20Joel%20Mull%20vs%20Ed%20Davenport%20-%20Stocktown%20~%20Eyespeak%20(EP).jpg)
Liebe*Detail is probably my label of the year, as this chart is beginning to show. This track is a really representative slice of 2007 in my opinion. What do you call this sort of sound? It’s quite hard to pin it down, but I suppose trance and house are the two main elements of this. I don’t really know anything about what Hamburg is like but it does seem to be the centre for a lot of this sort of music, whether made by natives like the Diynamic guys or an Englishman like Davenport.

Great roundup. Hope you will be able to comment on the tracks as well. It’s an interesting read and an inspiration to do a little time on the decks tonight..

Yeah, that Build Her track is a monster alright, had it on my August mix. Agreed on the John Daly too, although Freak Out Or Get Out slightly shades Do It for me…
