Hey Ronan

Some of the stuff I like to play these days...

The Rhadoo EP on Cadenza
Tampopo - Helicopters got Cameras (Tobias Mix) - Curle
Xtrak - Unreflect - Yore
Losoul - Westsidehorn - Playhouse
Kerri Chandler - Pong (Drum Mix) - Deeply Rooted House
The Workshop 4 EP
EQD - Equalized
The Mole - Baby you're the one - Wagon Repair

And lately I've been (re)discovering...

The Persuader - What is the Time, Mr. Templar? - Svek.
A percussive evergreen from the hey-day of Svek label before Jesper Dahlbäck electrocuted his productions.

Gemini: Swimmin' wit' the Sharks (Classic)
I love this guy. Too bad he ended up so badly.
Fantastic groove, a total singalong thing.

Move D. meets Ro 70: Untitled A - Source
Ultradeep late 90s acidic minimalist techno.
A collaboration with Roman Flügel.

Cheers, Björn

Virtual Mismo - Mismo Plastico Serge Santiago mix.

It's stadium-techno, but in the best possible way. Can't stop listening to it.

Alright, time to stop lurking...

Non-dance:

1. Band of Horses - Cease To Begin
2. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
3. TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain

All seem to be on high rotation for various reasons; emotional connectivity, simple pleasures, depth, layers, escapism etc. Many other albums feature, but these are the regulars.

Dance:

1. Andy Stott & Claro Intelecto's RA Podcast.
2. Modern Love back catalogue.
3. Substance & Vainquer - Resonance.
4. Substance & Vainquer - Immersion (Sleeparchive Remix).

Much like many others have been swept up in the dub vibe of late. The deeper sounds seem to mix nicely with my state of mind.

5. Par Grindvik - Do Us Part (Len Faki Remix).

One of those tracks that gave me shivers. Have been a recent convert to Faki through the Rainbow/Mekong Delta EP. Love the sense of widescreen beauty that he brings to his music.

6. Dave Aju - Be Like The Sun.

Such a slinky, cool as fuck late night vibe.

7. Anything by Noze & Dop.

No intellectual reason. Makes me dance.

8. Szenario - Pleaseasy (Raudive Remix).

Oliver Ho is pure quality.

I'm sure there's more, however that will do for now.

haven't been to a club in forever so a little divorced from dance musc right now, and the 12" production factory doesn't seem to be anywhere near full steam yet. anyway.

listening to:

conrad schnitzler - rot, blau, gelb lps (the original colour series?)
red sparrow - late at night during park 12" (weird breakbeat detroit house from lowtec... for home listening only... on out to lunch, workshop's predecessor, the label that spawned marvin dash)
kerri chandler - atmosphere 12" (happy they repressed this)
tyree cooper - da soul revival 12" (... this too)
abacus - the relics ep (classic 1994 12", sounds older than that tho -- all old analogue gear, sounds like the more downtempo atmospheric end of mr fingers, without any of the jazz...)
king tubby meets soul syndicate - freedom sounds in dub lp (great -- quite over the top/kitchen sink for tubby)
king tubby meets harry mudie volume 3 lp (love the harry mudie/tubby series -- my favourite tubby, no doubt, definitely check em if you've never heard)
jim ford - harlan county lp (completely inappropriate for here i suppose, 1969 country/rock/boogie/soul -- so so good tho, my most played of the week)
