HIAF Guest Mix 6: Till Von Sein (Morris Audio/Trenton)

So for this mix Till Von Sein steps in. Some of you might know his productions, which are on the deeper tip usually. He’s also a regular DJ in Berlin clubs like Arena, Sage, and Watergate, as well as around Europe. This mix is just over an hour of deep house music, with a great flow to it. If you like Efdemin’s mixes or Eurokai’s guest mix then I think you’ll really enjoy this too.
If you happen to be in Berlin, Till plays Watergate tonight.

I also had a quick chat with Till about DJing in general and the mix.
How was the mix recorded?
I did it with just 2 CD players and a rubbish ecler hak. Nothing special! In the last 6-7 months I only play CDs, gettin’ old and lazy.
What is your background in dance music, where did you grow up and how did you get into house and techno? When did you start DJing?
My backround is mainly black music, from rap to funk, jazz, soul, disco, dub
I also loved real jungle music back then. House started with the French revolution: Motorbass, Superdisco
What about now, do you DJ regularly somewhere?
I DJ almost every weekend. I got my residencies in my old hood, in Kiel/Northern Germany every month. I also play in clubs in Berlin where I live now on a regular: Arena, Sage, Watergate. And I’ve started travelling as well, to Moscow, Milano, Paris
Who are the producers and DJs you admire?
If it comes to producers there are too many guys out there I admire. But if it comes to DJs I’m a bit picky. I’m always getting bored pretty easy. I like the guys that surprise me, not the ones that play the basic tunes. For the so called “big names” I like Dixon, his flow is amazing. One guy who is brilliant is Finn Johannsen, of “De Bug” magazine. He has so many mixes on his webpage and they are all quality: disco ,soul, deep house.
If you’re new to the blog, or you missed them, you can check out the 5 other guest mixes here.
EDIT: Try this link for the podcast, let me know if it works. There is a problem with the podcast that goes above and beyond my knowledge for the moment. Does anyone have any ideas/help? Failing that if anyone has any idea when it stopped working and what sort of error messages it gives that’d be great. Currently it’s only displaying this week’s edition for me. I’ve no idea why. Is this the same for everyone?

Great mix. Really the kind of stuff i like a lot and the fun part is this mix works perfectly here while listening at work as a smooth background but would do completely different things when played out at a club and it would be great as well.
I need to check on that eurokai mix again but from what i remember that didn’t appeal at all while this completely does.

Ronan - the new podcast seems to work in iTunes, thanks!
I am no expert on podcasts, but had one a few years ago for which I used feedburner, like you do normally too - right?. One thing I remember is that I had to tell my feedburner feed to “transform” make my rss feed into a podcast feed, because they are different. Maybe that could be your problem - your podcast feed not being made to be a podcast feed…?
But if that’s not the problem, I have no idea.
